Flay-ed Cider

I'm Florida, and I approved this cider

We came across an episode of Boy Meets Grill on the Food Network, where Bobby Flay mixed up this holiday apple cider concoction. We had a small Christmas gathering to attend on Friday night, and we thought it was a good opportunity to try it out.  When you find a foolproof recipe, why not have my roommate prove it?

Mulled Cider

Ingredients:
* 2 quarts apple cider
* 2 cinnamon sticks
* 2 whole allspice berries
* 2 whole cloves
* 1 orange, thinly sliced
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a simmer on the grates of the grill or over a burner. Divide among individual mugs and serve hot.

Foolproof.  My roommate did it, and we didn’t even need a fire extinguisher!  There may be hope for him yet, but we need more supporting evidence.

We doubled the recipe and put it back in the original cider jug since the gathering was right down the street and wouldn’t have much time to cool down.  If you’re traveling more than a few minutes away, you may want to warm it up once you get to your destination.  Some of the partygoers spiked their cider with Myers’s Rum with positive reviews.
